On July 6, 2026, YGG announced the shutdown of its game publishing arm YGG Play (fully offline by July 31) with 35 layoffs, pivoting to the AI data economy, launching the vibecode.game platform and AI Alerts; the token saw no major sell-off after the announcement, holding near $0.018.
The unit generated over $9.6 million in lifetime revenue and $541,000 in Q2 2026; the treasury fell to $16.1 million (as of June 30), which officials say funds operations into 2028.
On the token side: cumulative buybacks reached about 24.12 million YGG (roughly $3.7 million, ~3.8% of circulating supply) as of Q1 2026; 3.42 million YGG unlocked on August 27, 2026 (0.34% of total supply), with the broader vesting schedule running through 2027.
On July 31, 2026, YGG shut down its publishing arm YGG Play and cut 35 roles; LOL Land and Waifu Sweeper ceased operating, while GIGACHADBAT and Ragnarok Breaker moved back to their original developers. The unit had earned over $9.6 million lifetime, including $541,000 in Q2.
YGG 3.0 launched on August 17, pivoting to the AI data economy: AI Alerts drew 27,000 applications in five days, and GIG Rewards works with a Philippine telecom to supply RLHF, annotation and embodied-AI data. vibecode.game went live in June, and the first VibeBlitz jam drew 72 finished games. The treasury stood at $16.1 million on June 30, with the lower burn extending runway into 2028.
YGG uses the Guild Protocol's three layers (Guilds, Assets, Activities) to fulfill AI data orders and expand Southeast Asian guilds and enterprise data pipelines. Building on AI Alerts and GIG Rewards (RLHF, labeling and embodied-AI data with a Philippine telecom partner), YGG promotes data labeling and collection services to more Southeast Asian countries and industry clients, and keeps attracting developers via vibecode.game and VibeBlitz, aiming to turn the guild network into a sustainable AI data supply chain.
