關於Theta Network
Theta Network is a layered blockchain for video and AI computing: the main chain handles settlement and staking, edge nodes take on transcoding and bandwidth distribution, and GPU capacity is sold as compute through EdgeCloud. The network uses multi-level BFT consensus, with Guardian nodes overseeing block production and Validator nodes packaging blocks. TFUEL pays for bandwidth, storage and compute, while THETA is staked to run validators and guardians, the two tokens separating usage cost from security collateral.
The product line spans video APIs, the EdgeCloud GPU marketplace and the ThetaDrop collectibles platform. Clients are streaming platforms, telecom operators and AI teams needing inference capacity. EdgeCloud schedules GPU jobs in containers and bills by the hour, edge nodes must stake TFUEL to take work, and the video API distributes transcoding to nodes and settles by bandwidth and duration. Compared with general-purpose clouds, compute comes from distributed edge nodes and community GPUs, scheduling and settlement happen on-chain, and transcoding and delivery keep existing CDN integration patterns.

In 2026 Theta Network moved its roadmap from video delivery toward decentralised AI and edge compute. In August EdgeCloud began letting AI agents discover, deploy and manage GPU resources on their own, while Edge Node moved out of beta so users can contribute local compute and earn TFUEL. The platform also integrated open models such as GLM-5.2 and offers on-demand inference APIs.
On the token side, Theta Labs announced in 2026 that it had unstaked 30 million THETA for growth initiatives across 2026 and 2027, covering telecom validators, EdgeCloud compute, AI agents and academic partnerships. Earlier in the year it launched AI Merch and AI Support agents and pushed TDROP 2.0 as an EdgeCloud payment method with Shopify rewards.
Theta Network's Future strategy and roadmap: in the second half Theta will ship an AI Ticketing Agent and fan engagement agents, extend distributed inference to multi-node hosting of large models, and deliver ticketing and engagement modules to partners such as the NBA and NHL while tying TDROP rewards to real compute usage.
