Setback: A May 8 governance proposal sought an orderly wind-down, redeeming roughly $10.1 million of protocol-owned liquidity pro rata to MCB and veMUX holders within 90 days; TVL has flat-lined near $10 million for nine months, about 86% below the February 2024 peak of $74.8 million.
Revenue: DefiLlama puts trailing 30-day revenue at $3,896, an annualized $47,000, with daily volume under $1 million.
MUX Protocol opened a governance vote in May 2026 on an orderly wind-down that would redeem roughly $9.4 million of POL pro rata to MCB and veMUX holders, set aside $650,000 for three months of wind-down operations, and execute redemptions through a 4-of-7 multisig with an immutable, non-upgradeable redemption contract. A lean-mode alternative proposed a $420,000 twelve-month budget with KPI gates at the November 8 review: $20 million average TVL, $500,000 cumulative fees, and $50 million routed through a mainnet Hyperliquid integration, with automatic wind-down if two of the three are missed. In August contributors said an incubated project had moved past beta into early operations without disclosing its name or metrics.
MUX Protocol's Future strategy and roadmap: Under lean mode, MUX would focus on the Hyperliquid integration and a possible HIP-3 deployer route, using the November review to decide between continued operation and redemption.
