關於Intmax
INTMAX is a stateless Layer 2 on Ethereum that combines Plasma-style client-held state with zero-knowledge proofs, developed by a Japanese team since 2022. It addresses the on-chain storage cost of payment traffic and the full visibility of amounts and counterparties: users build transfer batches locally and submit only hashes, the aggregator builds a Merkle tree over them, users sign the root with BLS keys, and the contract stores just the root, the aggregate signature and participant public keys, at roughly 4 to 5 bytes per transfer; balances and proofs travel peer-to-peer to recipients, and withdrawals submit a ZK balance proof verified by the contract.
The design lets aggregators work without global state and produce blocks in parallel, which suits high-frequency small payments and bulk payouts; privacy mining rewards activity that is harder to link, and the wallet uses MPC and FHE to protect keys and data. It does not run general smart contracts, handling only transfers of ETH, USDC and similar assets, so complex DeFi logic has to happen elsewhere before settling back on this chain.

On February 7, 2026 Intmax paused its layer-2 network after technical problems in the zero-knowledge proving system and urged users to withdraw.
Intmax later traced the cause to a cryptographic vulnerability in the balance proof circuit: no exploitation was observed and funds stayed in the Ethereum liquidity contract, but legacy withdrawals were suspended and a new Exit system was published so users could leave before assisted support ends. The design trade-offs were always unusual. Data and computation are pushed to the client, with only four to five bytes of nullifiers posted on-chain, which is why it is described as a stateless Plasma-like ZK rollup, while block data is hosted on Scroll to cut costs.
Intmax will finish migrating funds through the new exit system, rebuild the balance proof circuit with fresh audits, and regrow credible usage through small private payments and agent-to-agent settlement.
