關於Energy Web
Energy Web provides blockchain infrastructure for electricity and decarbonisation markets, starting in 2019 with a proof-of-authority energy chain whose EWT token pays fees and secures staking. It is positioned not as a general-purpose chain but as a way to map generation, charging, renewable certificates and device identity onto verifiable on-chain records, giving enterprise applications a shared identity and settlement base.
In 2025 the network moved to Energy Web X, a nominated proof-of-stake parachain on Polkadot where collators produce blocks, nominators stake EWT behind collators, and finality comes from the relay chain validator set, while the legacy chain moved to archival use. Assets travel through the Energy Bridge with mint-and-burn on the parachain and lock-and-unlock on Ethereum and the old chain, keeping total supply at parity. Off-chain business logic runs in a verified compute cloud, and worker node networks require EWT staking to operate.
Milestones: Kraken paused EWT native-chain funding on July 3 and migrated EWT 1:1 to the Ethereum network during July 6-10; OKX launched the EWT/USDT perpetual with up to 20x leverage on June 1.
Incentives: On May 8, Energy Web X's VCC Runtime app launched on the Apple Mac App Store in 173 countries and regions, letting users run background worker nodes and earn rewards in EWT and USDC.
