Cosmos's Hub weekly update of July 23, 2026 reported that the 2026.1 release lifted production throughput from roughly 200 TPS to well over 1,000 TPS, with stack targets of 500 ms blocks and 5,000 TPS. USDC integration proceeds in two steps, a two-click migration in August and a one-click flow in September.
The roadmap process has finished its ecosystem audit and problem phase and converged on three areas: real-world assets, interoperability and payments. IBC v2 connections to Solana and EVM layer-twos are in final audit, with general message passing to follow. Cosmos Labs launched a blockchain fleet management platform in 2026, the SDK now supports native proof-of-authority and post-quantum keys, and more than 150 chains secure over $70 billion of assets, with Figure, Ripple and the 26-central-bank CBWeb3 consortium among users of the stack.
Cosmos's Future strategy and roadmap: After dropping its own EVM and DEX on the Hub in July, Cosmos has recast itself as a service-provider hub: one IBC connection to the Hub reaches every chain it already links, competing with CCIP-style integration that is billed per connection and takes three to four months to schedule, with Swift's tokenised-deposit pilot across 11,000 member banks the clearest institutional case. The revenue shift matters more: Circle's decision to discontinue Noble USDC forces a migration, and USDC TVL on Injective converts directly into ATOM buyback flow, a link written into the token model by the fee-driven buyback and burn passed in August. The risk is that enterprise sales cycles outlast community patience, and delays to IBC on Solana and L2s have already cost trust.
