關於Cortex Protocol
Cortex Protocol is an execution layer for AI agents and a trading agent for decentralised finance, sharing a DAO with the Synapse cross-chain protocol and unrelated to the chain of the same ticker. It targets fragmented cross-chain workflows, where users must handle bridges, approvals, fees, slippage and balances across chains, and multi-step operations invite error. Users issue instructions in natural language and the agent performs cross-chain swaps, bridging, perpetual and spot orders, time-weighted entries, staking and yield search; an agent platform lets developers deploy specialised agents, and the token covers governance and agent fees.
Compressing several steps into one instruction moves risk from user error to how accurately the agent parses contract calls, which makes auditable call logs matter more than the interface. Governance proposals landed in the first half of 2026 merging the legacy cross-chain token into the new one with a permanent two-way portal; June on-chain data showed about $11.24 million locked on the cross-chain side and roughly $1,300 in 30-day fees, with focus shifted to options on a perpetuals exchange. Cross-chain volume and fee revenue have contracted sharply from peak, and running two tokens splits liquidity and supply accounting.
Supply: SYN converts into CX at 1 to 5.5, for a 1.6466 billion total supply with 4.9% annual inflation over four years. The planned 12-month migration window became an indefinite two-way conversion because exchanges never supported CX.
Development: A governance vote on the Protocol 28 upgrade and a mainnet adapter was published on September 16. CX bottomed at $0.0142 on July 2 and peaked at $0.0925 on September 29.
Cortex Protocol deployed its V2 through V4 contracts on the Base mainnet in March 2026, building an inference-verification market, Reasoning Bonds, and an ERC-8004 (#29822) compatible module that brings verifiable AI inference on-chain. The project also launched a $SYN to $CX conversion portal offering a continuous swap at 1 SYN = 5.5 CX (the originally planned February 2026 migration was shifted to an indefinite swap mechanism). In February 2026 the team published eight research papers, grounding the protocol's theoretical foundations.
Cortex Protocol's forward strategy emphasizes growing both supply and demand sides of the inference-verification market, deepening ERC-8004 standard integration, and driving more AI agents and inference tasks to settle verifiably on the Base mainnet, reinforcing on-chain AI trust capabilities.
