In 2026 Braintrust recast itself as three products: a vetted talent marketplace of two million people, the AIR AI interviewer, and Nexus for recruiting workflow automation, which is priced as a share of measured savings with the platform keeping 25%. The client fee remains 15% on top of each invoice, a level set by a token holder vote in July 2023 and still quoted in third-party reviews during 2026. By September the company blog had shifted to automating recruiting operations rather than simply placing AI engineers.
The token was volatile. On May 15 BTRST fell 26.33% in a day within a 75.6% intraday range, on a market cap near $20 million and $617,000 of daily volume; over seven days it was still up 23.93%, but the twelve-month loss reached 71.81%. With about 96.54% of the 250 million supply circulating, there is little room for expansion, leaving price driven by flows in thin liquidity.
Braintrust will shift revenue from placement fees toward software subscriptions and savings sharing through AIR and Nexus, grow the enterprise share of clients, and give the token a use beyond governance.
