Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Robinhood on Arbitrum Orbit, positioned as infrastructure for real-world assets and onchain finance, with USDC as its gas token and KYC enforced. It targets the trading-hour limits and long issuance-to-settlement chains of traditional securities, linking brokerage and on-chain accounts so that on-chain assets are held by licensed custodians, trades settle in USDC, and tokenized equities share one account system with crypto, integrating Uniswap, Chainlink and BitGo. That design lets securities, once bound by trading hours and settlement cycles, approach an around-the-clock composable state.
The trade-off is exchanging permissioning and KYC for compliant reach, at the cost of resembling a regulated on-chain broker more than an open public chain. Its mainnet went live in July 2026, oriented toward tokenized equities and AI-agent trading interfaces.
