Pod Network is a Layer 1 launched in 2024 that removes blocks and leaders: transactions stream to validators that sign and timestamp them individually, and a client reads confirmation in a single network round trip. Ordering is only partial, with an accepted sway range for each transaction, which eliminates inter-validator communication; clearing uses frequent batch auctions so outcomes depend on price rather than arrival time, removing front-running and latency arbitrage. The network exposes an EVM interface plus on-chain order book, matching, liquidation and oracle primitives.
It positions itself as a trading substrate for on-chain markets, serving venues and market makers that need fair matching, differing from general L1s by writing market microstructure into the protocol. Partial ordering leaves cross-market combinations to handle positional uncertainty, batch auctions produce a single clearing price at batch close, and matching depends on price rather than queue position.
