Token retired: OMNI was swapped into NOM at 1:75 in September 2025 and Binance removed all OMNI spot pairs on October 1; Omni Core was sunset in February 2026 with assets migrated back to Ethereum as the project pivoted to a perpetual futures trading terminal.
Recent state (NOM): NOM rose about 24% on September 5-6 on volume exceeding 15 times its market cap, yet market capitalization was only about $5.4 million; by then it carried a Binance monitoring tag, disabled Coinbase spot and a Upbit delisting, with a single whale holding 59% of supply and 61% of tokens still to unlock, and no CoinGecko listing.
Nomina went through two identity changes in 2026. On February 17 the team shut down its original chain, Omni Core, automatically mapping all wallet balances, staking positions and assets to ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum without any user action; the team said the marginal value of maintaining a chain was lower than putting all engineering resources into a unified trading terminal.
The terminal's logic is funding rate arbitrage: users' multi-leg positions on venues such as Hyperliquid and Lighter are aggregated into one interface where they can be monitored, closed in one click or opened and closed automatically, reducing the risk of mismatched legs; NOM became an Ethereum-native asset after the migration and has shared fees with stakers since the first quarter. On September 16 Nomina was acquired by research firm IRF, shifting its narrative to building DeFi infrastructure for autonomous AI agents; earlier, on August 9, Coinbase had stopped trading the old OMNI token.
Nomina's new owner plans to extend the terminal from perpetuals into financial scenarios such as prediction markets and to let AI call trading and settlement functions directly through agent interfaces; near-term items to watch are post-acquisition team integration and new arrangements for NOM in fee distribution.
