Lantern Finance is a FinCEN-registered US money services business that offers dollar loans collateralized by crypto at a flat 8% annual rate, with a 50% initial LTV cap, a 75% liquidation LTV and a 72-hour grace period after a margin call at 65%. Collateral is held 1:1 in cold storage by qualified custodian BitGo, insured for 250 million dollars, with no rehypothecation, and collateral assets and loan ledgers are matched line-by-line in the off-chain custody system against BitGo's cold-storage certificates.

The product merges borrowing and spot trading in one account where users wire in from a bank and turn bought assets into loan collateral with one tap. As a lender that opened in 2026, Lantern has not yet been tested through a full market downturn, its lending record is still accumulating, and its collateral types and borrower base expand gradually with time since launch, with mainstream collateral still capped by risk models per volatility band.
