IO Trader is a non-custodial derivatives platform deployed on Arbitrum, Base, BNB Chain and Solana that folds perpetuals and event markets into one margin engine: each event is deployed as a standalone market contract with its own liquidity pool and oracle references, a pricing layer blends AMM quotes with order-book depth, the risk layer reuses perpetual funding, isolated margin and liquidation logic, and settlement is confirmed by multiple oracles plus off-chain event verification.
The line-up has three parts, crypto perpetuals, event contracts and an AI signal layer; perpetuals carry most volume, while the other two turn event outcomes into levered directional positions so a user can hedge price and event exposure in one account. Cumulative volume has passed $1 billion, users are mainly retail traders in Southeast Asia, Latin America and Europe, and the whitepaper was filed with the Central Bank of Ireland under the MiCA framework. Long-tail event markets quote thinly, settlement leans on multiple data sources and manual review, and depth clusters in a few major pairs.

Funding: IO Trader closed a $3.8 million strategic round on May 21 with Animoca Brands, ViaBTC Capital, Everwood Capital and others, earmarked for product work, exchange listings and expansion in Southeast Asia, Latin America and Europe.
Fundamentals and token: Over the prior 11 months the protocol combined perpetuals, prediction markets and AI-assisted trading to clear $1 billion-plus in cumulative volume with tens of thousands of monthly traders. IOI had not launched at the time; contracts were third-party audited and the whitepaper was filed with the Central Bank of Ireland under MiCA.
On 21 May 2026 IO Trader, a perpetual futures and prediction market protocol on BNB Chain, closed a $3.8 million strategic round with Animoca Brands, ViaBTC Capital, Everwood Capital, CANDAQ, WAGMI Ventures, Credit Scend and Web3 Labs. The money followed visible traction: over eleven months it merged perpetuals, prediction markets, custom event markets and AI-assisted trading into a single wallet experience, passed $1 billion in cumulative volume and held tens of thousands of monthly active traders.
Compliance is the differentiator it pushes. Its whitepaper has been filed with the Central Bank of Ireland under the EU's MiCA framework and the contracts have passed a third-party audit, unusual for a derivatives protocol with mostly offshore peers. The IOI token, with a one billion supply for staking, fee discounts, liquidity incentives and eventual DAO governance, is not yet on major exchanges. The product supports up to 100x leverage across major pairs and tokenised equities, uses Chainlink and Pyth oracles, and applies circuit breakers and position caps against manipulation. The risks are equally clear: prediction markets and high-leverage perpetuals share one margin account, which shortens the path for risk to travel; the team numbers under ten people; X followers near 60,000 fell by about 3,100 in thirty days, a sign that attention is cooling; and building derivatives on BNB Chain still means competing for liquidity that a few leading protocols absorb.
IO Trader's Future strategy and roadmap: complete the IOI launch and listings, make prediction markets the differentiated entry point, and use the MiCA filing to court European users and institutional partners. The case to prove is that putting two derivatives categories in one account improves retention rather than merely stacking narratives.
